Energy Efficiency
Energy Efficient Homes
At Vitruvian homes, our new homes are built with the highest quality features in the industry, with conscious practices and progressive materials implemented to not only save homeowners money on energy costs—but to also minimize a home's impact on the environment and give our owners peace of mind.
Energy Efficiency
Insulation
Our new homes feature spray foam insulation in between walls and rafters, allowing for a tighter, more effective building envelope. This provides your home with a constant thermal break by locking in heating and cooling, allowing for successful energy efficiency and saving you up to 20% on your monthly energy bills—further resulting in a smart investment.
Air Barriers
We apply commercial-grade fluid applied vapor barriers to all of our homes for additional protection against air infiltration and leakage. Research shows that about 40% of energy loss is due to air movement in the home, and by adding air barriers to reduce activity—the energy savings far outweigh the cost of installing the barrier.
Lighting
Our homes feature Lutron Caseta lighting control systems that extend energy savings throughout your entire home. The advanced technology allows you to control the latest energy-efficient light sources—such as LEDs and fluorescent lamps. With lighting products from Lutron in your Vitruvian Home, you can save energy without sacrificing comfort or style.
Thermostats
Programmable thermostats are placed in all of our homes, saving our customers at least 10 to 12% on heating and 15% on cooling. The advanced technology learns how and when to keep you comfortable, and it also knows how and when to save energy. This not only saves you and your home from wasting energy—it also saves you from breaking the bank and results in a smart, long-term investment.
HVAC Systems
Our homes contain 14 SEER HVAC systems, which are crucial in reducing your carbon footprint with their minimal use of power. 14 SEER systems are 20 to 30% more energy efficient than air conditioning systems from just 15 years ago, maximizing energy efficiency and cost effectiveness in your new home.
Tankless Water Heater
Tankless water heaters are a standard feature in our homes. Unlike traditional water heaters that store hot water in a tank, tankless water heaters heat water as it's needed, ensuring that you'll never run out during a long shower or while washing dishes. Plus, because they don't have a storage tank, tankless water heaters take up less space in your home and can be mounted on a wall. Tankless water heaters are also more energy efficient than traditional water heaters. Because they only heat water when it's needed, they use less energy overall. This will help save money on your monthly utility bills and reduce your environmental footprint.
Low E Windows
Low E windows are a type of energy-efficient window that features a special coating that helps to reduce heat transfer through the glass. This means that your home will stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, without having to rely on your HVAC system as much. As a result, you'll save money on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint. Low E windows also offer a number of other benefits. They're highly durable and resistant to scratches, which means that they'll last for years without needing to be replaced. They also help to block harmful UV rays, which can fade your furniture and flooring over time.
